When women wait ... on the edge of EuropeWhat connects a holiday home rental agent on the Norwegian Arctic Ocean with a female captain on a Greek island? What stories do coastal workers in the Basque Country carry within them? In this extraordinary world premiere, THEATER DER KLÄNGE explores the hidden identities of women on Europe's coasts - between tradition and change, between waiting and resistance. After intensive research trips through the Barents Sea, the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, choreographer Jacqueline Fischer transforms collected life stories, forgotten rituals and mythical narratives into a touching choreographic language. Four dancers bring the essence of female coastal existence to life: the sponge divers of antiquity, the defiant net menders, the rebellious mermaids. Poetic film images, hypnotic soundscapes and powerful movement merge into a sensual overall experience. The stage becomes a mirror of three seas - wild, melancholic, resistant. An interdisciplinary dance performance about waiting, waves and change. |
